NORD Senior VP to Speak at Faster Cures Conference

J. Russell Teagarden, NORD Senior Vice President for Medical & Scientific Affairs, will speak on Nov. 5, 2013 at the Partnering For Cures conference in New York City.

J. Russell Teagarden, NORD Senior Vice President for Medical & Scientific Affairs, will speak tomorrow (Nov. 5, 2013) at the Partnering For Cures conference in New York City tomorrow as a member of a panel addressing the topic: “Rare Diseases:  Hot, but for How Long?”

Moderated by Forbes Magazine Senior Editor Matthew Herper, the panel will also include the following speakers:  Mike Collins, Vice President for Global Clinical Operations, Alexion Pharmaceuticals; Sharon Hesterlee, Vice President for Research, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy; Matthew Perry, Portfolio Manager, BVF Partners LP; and Eugene Williams, CEO, DART Therapeutics.

Partnering for Cures is an annual conference hosted by FasterCures that draws together approximately 800 thought leaders from all sectors of medical research to focus on accelerating the development of treatments or cures.

Dr. Teagarden oversees research and related activities at NORD.  Prior to joining NORD, he spent 19 years at Medco Health Systems where he was chiefly involved in drug technology assessment, coverage for the company’s clients and internal departments.
