1st Annual Rare Diseases/Orphan Products Summit

NORD is co-sponsoring the 1st Annual Rare Diseases/Orphan Products Summit on Oct. 11-13, under the auspices of the Drug Information Association (DIA). Collaborating organizations include EURORDIS (the European Rare Disease Organization), FDA, NIH, and the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Learn More.

NORD To Host Regional Meetings for Members

NORD is planning three regional meetings for its Member Organizations. Meetings were already in Chicago (Sept. 15-16) and in New York City (Dec. 1-2) and a meeting is scheduled for San Francisco in March 2012.  These meetings will mark the launch of a series of workshops, webinars and in-person meetings to help NORD and its Members collaborate effectively.

We hope that each Member Organization will be able to participate in at least one of the upcoming regional meetings.  There will be opportunities to discuss ways to partner more closely, network and share best practices, and hear updates from NORD's Washington DC team on current advocacy issues. Medical Foods Conference

On February 17, 2011, NORD hosted a conference in Washington DC for all stakeholders concerned about the fact that patients with certain rare diseases often experience difficulty accessing medical foods required for their care.  NORD will continue to monitor and work on this issue through its advocacy programs and with stakeholders who participated in the February conference.
