The National Association of the Physically Handicapped, Inc., (NAPH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the social, economic, and physical welfare of the physically handicapped. NAPH's objectives are to promote public awareness of the needs of handicapped people and to push for government and legislation to meet those needs. Presently, its goals include the adjustment of buildings for handicapped people (e.g., wider doorways and proper ramps for wheelchairs, etc.); equal education and employment opportunities for the handicapped; and, in collaboration with government agencies, civic groups, and other organizations, the implementation of programs to benefit the handicapped.
