The Orphan Europe was founded in 1990 with the overall aim to provide treatment for patients with unmet medical needs suffering from rare diseases. Orphan Europe was acquired by Recordati in December 2007. Today Orphan Europe markets nine orphan drugs and has a network of subsidiaries and offices throughout Europe and the Middle East. This network works closely with academics, patient associations and health care authorities to improve the quality of diagnosis and care of patients with rare disease.
