The Ivemark Syndrome Association is a voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to providing information and support to families affected by Ivemark syndrome. Ivemark syndrome, a rare disorder that is usually apparent at birth. The symptoms are, absence of the spleen, malformations of the cardiovascular system and abnormal displacement of the abdomen and intestines. Founded in 1996, the association aims to offer support to other familes affected by Ivemark syndrome; to raise awareness of the disorder within the medical community and among other interested individuals; and to network families in similar situations. Educational materials include a regular newsletter.
