The Okada Specialty Assistance Dogs is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting human independence and personal enrichment of individuals by utilizing the unique qualities of specially trained dogs. Established in 1986, Okada has earned its reputation and credibility as a provider of hearing dogs, companion dogs, seizure dogs and Alzheimer's dogs. The majority of dogs trained come from animal shelters. These once abandoned animals are carefully trained by Okada to enhance human life, to guide, and to give and/or maintain independence. Okada Specialty Assistance Dogs is a voting member of Assistance Dogs International (ADI), a coalition of assistance dog providers formed to promote standards of excellence, facilitate communication between providers, and educate the public.
