The mission of the National Eating Disorders Association is to eliminate eating disorders and body dissatisfaction by employing comprehensive strategies that help prevent young people from developing eating disorders; insuring that those who suffer from eating disorders receive information and support; promoting research into causes, prevention, and treatment; and advocating for public policies that recognize eating disorders as serious mental illnesses, promote increased access to care, and provide funding for research, prevention, and treatment. Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.
