The Children of Aging Parents (CAPS) is a national, non-profit, voluntary organization dedicated to providing support and information to the country's approximately 22.5 million caregivers of elderly individuals. Established in 1977 and comprised of 2,000 members, CAPS disseminates information to both the general public and professional communities, provides appropriate referrals, and maintains a network of support programs designed specifically for individuals who provide care for elderly individuals. Publications include a regular newsletter, brochures, and pamphlets that promote public awareness of the value and needs of caregivers.
