The Center for Research on Women with Disabilities (CROWD) is a research organization dedicated to conducting ongoing research and promoting, developing, and disseminating information to expand the life choices of women with disabilities so that they may fully participate in community life. Established in 1993, the center conducts research and training activities related to the health, independence, and community integration of people with physical disabilities. It has established a database of psychosocial behaviors of women with disabilities compared to able-bodied women. The center fulfills requests for information on its research findings and is expanding its efforts to conduct training and disseminate materials targeting a variety of audiences including medical professionals, allied health professionals, counselors, social workers, educators, policy analysts, and consumers.
