The CHASE ~ Children's Heart Association for Support and Education is a non-profit organization in Canada that was established in 1984 in response to the growing need for a support group for families of children who were born with heart abnormalities (congenital heart defects). The organization, which currently has approximately 400 member families, is dedicated to providing information, support, and resources to parents of infants and children with congenital heart disease. CHASE is committed to providing information on pediatric heart disease and related issues; conducting regular support group meetings for parents and other family members; hosting regular educational meetings with guest speakers; and maintaining a parent-to-parent support network. The organization also holds an annual family picnic, contacts other cardiac support groups to exchange information and ideas, and works with The Hospital for Sick Children's Division of Cardiology. CHASE provides a variety of educational materials.
