British Liver Trust
2 Southampton Road
Ringwood, BH24 1HY
The British Liver Trust (BLT) was initially set up to provide support and education, as well as to fund medical research. More recently, following a significant review, the charity's overall strategy is to cover all liver diseases, operate strategically at a national level, and have an initial focus on three key areas of activity. These activities are Information, Research, and Service Enhancement (advocating on behalf of people with liver disease). The British Liver Trust works closely with others involved in liver disease including medical professionals, other voluntary organizations, government agencies, and suppliers of products used in the treatment of liver disease. A priority for the charity is to ensure services for liver disease are specifically commissioned in the NHS throughout the UK. This is alongside the need to raise awareness of liver disease and to promote the issue within society generally.
