The "Pediatric neurotransmitter diseases" is an umbrella term for genetic disorders that affect the synthesis, metabolism and catabolism of neurotransmitters. Presently, the PND Association formerly known as Pediatric Neurotransmitter Disease Association represents the following diseases: tyrosine hydroxylase deficiency, aromatic L- amino acid decarboxylase deficiency, GTP cyclohydrolase I deficiency, and sepiapterin reductase deficiency. The PND Associationis a non-profit, voluntary organization dedicated to the identification and treatment of all pediatric neurotransmitter diseases through education, advocacy and research.
