The Life Raft Group is an international, Internet-based, non-profit organization providing support, through education and innovative research, to patients with a rare cancer called gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), most of whom are being treated with a new oral cancer drug called Gleevec (Glivec outside the United States). The Life Raft Group provides information to patients, medical professionals, and researchers, and supports research related to treatment of, and ultimately a cure for, GIST.
