The MUMS (Mothers United for Moral Support, Inc.) National Parent-to-Parent Network is a non-profit support organization that matches parents with other parents whose children have the same disabilities, rare disorders, chromosomal abnormalities or health conditions. The parents can exchange medical information, as well as names of physicians, clinics, medical resources or research programs. MUMS maintains a database of over 20,000 families from 54 countries covering more than 3,400 disorders, and also networks with other organizations to increase the possibility of finding a match. MUMS puts parents in touch with support groups dealing with their child's disability and publishes a newsletter for parents and professionals. MUMS can even match parents whose children do not have a diagnosis by symptoms.
