The Ehlers Danlos Foundation of New Zealand provides support and information to the families and sufferers of Ehlers Danlos syndrome. This is a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders characterized by defects of the major structural protein in the body. Symptoms and findings may include abnormally loose, flexible joints that may easily become dislocated; loose, thin, stretchy skin; and unusual fragility of the skin, blood vessels, and membranes. The foundation provides information to the public and the medical community about Ehlers Danlos syndrome and other related connective tissue disorders.
