The International Painful Bladder Foundation (IPBF) is a voluntary, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the interests of patients with interstitial cystitis, painful bladder syndrome and associated disorders. Interstitial cystitis is a chronic, painful inflammatory condition of the bladder wall characterized by pressure and pain above the pubic area along with increased frequency and urgency of urination. IPBF increases awareness and knowledge of these disorders worldwide and helps support groups get started.. The foundation stimulates global research, and promotes international cooperation and collaboration in the interstitial cystitis patient community.
