The BEAT Beating Eating Disorders is a non-profit charity located in the United Kingdom that provides information, help, and support for people affected by eating disorders, particularly anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Anorexia nervosa is an illness of self-starvation; however, bulimia is a psychiatric disorder consisting of binge eating, often followed by self-induced vomiting or purges by the use of laxatives and diuretics. EDA offers support groups, education and advocacy to patients, and family members.
