The Spasmodic Torticollis ST/Dystonia, Inc., is a non-profit rare-disorder organization founded in 1989. Its mission is to assist patients in finding a faster diagnosis and more effective treatment for spasmodic torticollis. Spasmodic torticollis, also known as cervical dystonia, is a form of dystonia characterized by intermittent spasms of the neck muscles resulting in involuntary rotation and tilting of the head. Once a diagnosis and treatment are known, this empowers the patients and/or family to achieve a higher quality of life. Spasmodic Torticollis Dystonia, Inc., offers education and advocacy to affected individuals and family members.
