The XLP Research Trust exists to promote and fund research on this disorder, provide a point of contact and support for families affected by XLP, and raise awareness of the disorder among medical professionals and the public. X-linked lymphoproliferative syndrome (XLP), which is also known as Duncan's syndrome, is an extremely rare, inherited immunodeficiency disorder that is usually fully expressed in males only. To date, more than 400 boys from 100 families have been diagnosed. Boys who have this disease have a faulty immune system and are unable to fight off infections, leading to chronic, life-threatening illness in many cases.
