The Blind Children's Fund (BCF) is an international, non-profit organization that was established in 1978. BCF was incorporated to respond to the special educational and emotional needs of blind, visually impaired and multi-impaired children and their families. Blind Children's Fund represents a network of parents, professionals, and volunteers throughout the United States and the world who are committed to developing, organizing, and disseminating information and materials for affected families. BCF develops and distributes educational materials and literature; publishes a quarterly newsletter; and distributes national position papers relative to advocacy and program development for affected children. BCF organizes international symposia, conducts workshops and conferences, provides in-service and consultant services, and provides a slide and tape show for UNESCO in four languages that helps train professionals and paraprofessionals who work with blind, visually impaired or multi-impaired children.
