The Burns United Support Groups, Inc. (BUSG) is a national, non-profit service organization dedicated to giving emotional support to burn survivors and their families. Established in 1986 by a burn survivor, the group is open to all burn survivors, family members and friends, physicians, other healthcare professionals, and all other interested individuals. The group offers coping strategies and emotional support to burn survivors and family members, provides referral services, and offers peer counseling and support. Burns United Support Groups also serves as an information center, providing news on fire prevention and the latest techniques in post-burn care, a library of videos and books that discuss burn survivors' experiences and positive motivational information, and monthly flyers and quarterly newsletters.
