The Myeloproliferative Disease Research Center, Inc. (MDRCI) is a non-profit voluntary organization established in 1989. One of the major goals of the organization is to establish a support network for people with myeloproliferative diseases for the purpose of sharing problems and experiences that are unique to these diseases. The Research Center seeks to produce and distribute educational understandable materials that pertain to myeloproliferative diseases and to sponsor educational activities for the general public. Other goals include the establishment of a Myeloproliferative Diseases Physician’s Network; enhancement of professional awareness of these diseases; and maintenance of a database that provides updated medical information to both affected individuals and physicians. The Center supports research that promotes understanding of these diseases and improvement of the care of affected individuals including advanced diagnostic techniques and therapeutic services.
